Nowadays, so many people are suffering from anxiety. They try different techniques to feel some relief. Some help temporarily. Others do not.

If you wish to truly be free from the devastating effects, the first step is awareness.

Anxiety starts with a concern. When you begin to think about what you are concerned about, you then begin to worry. After some time, the worry turns into anxiety. As you focus on the anxiety and accompanying physical symptoms, they increase and often can lead to a panic attack.

You can take back control. You can take back control of your mind and your body. You can take back control of your life.

Now that you have this new awareness, you can choose your thoughts. You can choose to focus on what you are concerned about rather than begin to worry. If you don't worry about it, you won't feel anxious or have a panic attack.

You can take back control by first asking yourself if the concern is rational or not.  If it is not, you can move to the final step outlined below. If it is than the next step to taking back control of your life is by recognizing what you are concerned about and then by taking action...doing everything possible to prevent what you are about from transpiring.

Simply by having your thoughts focused on what you can actually do and then by taking the action identified will provid you with a greater sense of control.

By taking action, you will often address the concern and will make the likelihood that what you are afraid of will not take place.

After you have done all that you can, the final step is to let go. This is often the most difficult part for most people. Worrying and anxiety are wasted emotions. They might make you feel like you are doing something when you actually are not. They actually tap into your sense of powerlessness.

By taking all the action possible, you take back your power. You can then work on letting o knowing that you done all that you can . This is an important and final step.

To let go , say to yourself

I have done all that I can do.

It is now out of my hands.

I am not going to waste my precious energy by worrying...when it won't do any good anyways.

I have done all that I can do(and remind yourself of what you have done).

If you have a belief in God or something force greater than yourself, you can say: I give it over to you.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. You have the ability to Change Your Thoughts. Shift Your Feelings. Create Your Dreams.

An Unexpected Journey: The Message of the Tree

August 7, 2016 Bonnie Barness

I just came back from spending the weekend delivering my first ever Creating Your Authentic Path workshop - with the most wonderful people.

It was an incredible experience for me -  To see, share and experience what I had visualized in my mind’s eye was so thrilling.

The experiences- that I had created for all of us to participate together in- were sometimes lot and lots of fun and and at other times so deeply healing that I am in awe of the profound journeys that each person went on. What I had not thought about or realized would happen was the closeness that everyone experienced. By the end of the weekend, everyone who had participated in  the workshop decided to create their own Facebook group, calling it , The Power Within. Seeing people, who were strangers on Saturday morning, connect on such a deep level and then want to continue the journey together, after the weekend workshop ended, moved me deeply.

I also, learned so much from everyone else who attended. Each person brought the knowledge and wisdom of a lifetime and gave freely and with such generosity. The discussion moved to mysticism, science, personal experiences, shared ideas, sharing of recipes and  new healing techniques.

The evening after the first day of the workshop , for some reason, I started thinking about The Tree of Life in mystical Kabbalah.  The Kabbalah teaches that we must each be grounded and balanced in our physical reality so that we can, then,  reach up towards the great joy, peace and spiritual heights available to us all.  I realized at that moment that each person at the workshop was their own Tree of Life and that the workshop was providing the nourishment necessary for each person  to heal,  grow stronger,  and become more connected to that which is above and to that which is below.

The next morning, we began to share with each other about what had transpired since we had been together last.  One person said that she had so much energy and joy that she went home to her husband and said, "Let's go out dancing" and she reported they were out until 3:00 a.m. Others shared that they had felt a deep sense of peace that was surprising yet so wonderful. When asked if I had anything to share,  I told everyone about what had come to me about the The Tree of Life.

One of the participants was excited to tell us about a previous activity she had engaged in and had  found to be very enlightening.  The activity involved her drawing a picture of a tree...its trunk and its branches....and on the branches were leaves…dead leaves. Each leaf represented a past behavior or action that she had wanted to release and let go of. She then drew these leaves falling off…down…from the branches ....... replacing each one with a small, simple flower blossom. She was drawing her own Tree of Life.

A few hours later, during a break , I was sitting and talking with one of the people at the workshop when her eyes gazed away ......and then she began shaking her head. She said, “Bonnie, you’re not going to believe it”. My eyes followed hers and there on the wall at the center of where we had all been sitting for hours at a time throughout the weekend was the painting of a tree. The tree had dried brown leaves falling from its branches and small flower blossoms beginning to emerge. The tree was more of a mirage…out of focus except for the leaves falling and the new flowers blossoming. The person next to me said, “ That’s like what is happening with us this weekend. Things are shifting…and the tree..it’s unbelievable”.

It was as if the shift that was taking place during the weekend was being reflected in the painting that had been close to us the whole time…. yet unseen until that moment.

The weekend was drawing to a close. We had one last break. I opened the door so that everyone could come in when I noticed they were all huddled together in the adjoining store. I waited and when they entered, one person handed me an envelope. I opened it up and on the front of the card inside was a picture of  a tree…the most beautiful tree…with leaves falling and new flowers emerging.

We all gave each other a knowing smile, realizing that we were exactly where we were suppose to be,  and shared in our last moments of the weekend together.

Having had this wonderful experience, I would love to share my next  Creating Your Authentic Path workshop with you , on the 27th and 28th of August 2016, here in Scottsdale. Would you like to let go of  behaviors that no longer support your happiness? Are you ready to  experience a deep positive shift towards the  powerful, authentic you? I’ll take you on an exciting journey - a metaphysical path - where on the way you’ll have the opportunity to :

  • Get in touch with your passion
  • Have healing and releasing of past pain
  • Connect through mystical ceremony
  • Feel a freedom and peace which will allow you to soar as you move forward on your authentic path, your life.

I’d love for you to join me!
